ALLEGED PURSE THIEF HELD AFTER FOOT CHASE.(CAPITAL REGION)

SCHENECTADY -- An alleged purse snatcher was arrested on Hamilton Hill Thursday after a lengthy foot chase with police officers.

"The arresting officers were running through back yards and jumping fences. It was just like you see on TV," Assistant Chief Louis Pardi said.

Patrolmen Brian Carroll, Nick Messere and Christopher Cowell arrested Thomas J. Williamson, 19, of Eagle Street.
