Qld; Two injured men winched off cray boat in Torres Strait

Two men have been winched off a stricken fishing boat which ran into difficulties in
Torres Strait, north of Cape York.

Australian Search and Rescue spokesman BEN MITCHELL says a helicopter winched the two
men from the cray boat late this morning before transporting them to hospital at nearby
Horn Island.

The nature of their injuries and condition is not yet known.

Another 10 people are waiting on board the vessel for another boat to take them back
to Horn Island, about 10 nautical miles to the north.

Mr MITCHELL says seas and weather conditions in the area are good today and it is not
yet known why the fishing vessel got into difficulties.
